Spanish Shrines

The Argon Travel program dedicated to Spanish sanctuaries begins in Guadalupe, in the province of Cáceres, a few kilometers from Portugal. The town is known for its houses of traditional architecture, but mainly for housing one of the most important Spanish religious buildings – the sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe. This is why a visit to the shrine, monastery, and basilica is included in the program. The trip continues to Madrid for a tour of the city's iconic sites such as Plaza Mayor, Plaza Cibeles, El Retiro Park, Gran Vía and Royal Palace. The tour also includes a visit to Avila, Segovia (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Alba de Tormes, Salamanca, then Burgos to see the Burgos Cathedral, a monumental complex inspired by French cathedrals from the 13th century dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Further north, Argon Travel's program includes a visit to the sanctuary dedicated to Saint Ignatius of Loyola, the important founder of the Jesuits, and a visit to the monumental Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar in Zaragoza. Depart to Montserrat to visit the Black Virgin of Montserrat and its monastery. Last destination: Barcelona, the capital of the Catalonia region. The day begins with a city tour, with particular emphasis on the work of architect Gaudí – the Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló, and La Pedrera. Visit the gothic quarter and free time to explore the Ramblas.
